CMA CGM's CEVA opens container service in Gdynia

CEVA Logistics, now a unit of French shipping giant CMA CGM, has opened in Gdynia, Poland, reports the American Journal of Transportation.


"As versatility continues to be important, our team is developing and delivering needed solutions," said Stephane Gautrais, global ocean leader, CEVA Logistics.


The new location is focused ocean freight services, including less-than-container load (LCL), full container load (FCL), break bulk and project logistics.


CEVA has more than 30 existing locations in Poland, including major contract logistics sites in Wroc?aw, Poznan and Pi?a. The new freight management office in Gdynia is home to members of the company's ocean freight and industrial projects and energy services staff. The new office also serves as the rail control tower for Europe.


The Gdynia branch offers customers another connection point in an extensive global logistics network of 1,000 locations and 10,000 port-pairs. With direct port services now in both Gdynia and Gdansk, CEVA provides direct LCL connections between Europe, North America and Asia Pacific - including Hong Kong, Ningbo and Shanghai.


One of the top connections for CEVA's LCL service in Gdynia is the US, and the company has already started weekly services from Chicago to Gdynia, including pick-up services from anywhere in the US.
